Small town girl, big city dreams! Sasha Staar Horne is a Beaufort, South Carolina native that has made a career as a traveling storyteller and video journalist.
Greetings, I’m Sasha. I’m a TV Host at Sasha Talks Tech living in Los Angeles, California. I am a fan of media, travel, and innovation. I’m also interested in entrepreneurship and technology. In addition to speaking on panels, Current projects include working with Providence St. Joseph Health, Well-Being Trust and launching Perks of Ambition presents Create x Innovate, a global pop-up tour designed to introduce students and young professionals to careers in STEM, creative entrepreneurship, and innovation. With events for the mind, body, and spirit, participants will strengthen their skills in personal branding, self care, while having the chance to demo the tech of the future.
A proud South Carolina native, Sasha Horne has been a life long storyteller.
She created her first newsletter for her Kindergarten class at Little People's College and Nursery in Port Royal, SC and from there she's been reading and writing and creating ever since.
At the age of 16, Sasha graduated from Beaufort High School (Go Eagles!) and went on to earn her BA in Communication from the College of Charleston and a MA in Journalism from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
As a reporter, Sasha's work has appeared in dozens of mainstream and niche media outlets covering politics, viral news, entertainment, pop culture, the cannabis “green rush”, tech trends, and most recently health and wellness in partnership with Providence St. Joseph Health and the Well Being Trust.
Sasha is also the founder of Perks of Ambition, a collective helping artists and creative entrepreneurs amplify their platforms for a purpose.
Her passions include travel, learning about new technology, app development, gadget and product reviews, writing, speaking engagements, vlogging, and connecting.
In 2013, Sasha was selected from more than 100,000 applicants to compete on ABC’s reality competition show "Whodunnit?”
After appearing on the show, Sasha relocated to Los Angeles Her love of technology, social media, and trends led her to launch her blog “Sasha Talks Tech” highlighting startup stories and tech talk for emerging brands and entrepreneurs.
Sasha’s journalism career has taken her across the country and around the globe including assignments in South Korea, Taiwan, Spain, New York, and Ferguson, Missouri.
Sasha is a former political reporter who has covered the Republican primary race and Georgia state senate for the Emmy-award winning PBS show “Prime-time Lawmakers”. While living in Atlanta she was made the "Power 30 Under 30."
Sasha also covered crime, local government, and the military community as a TV news reporter in Eastern North Carolina.
After earning her Master’s degree in Journalism from Georgetown University, Sasha joined CNN as one of four recipients of the prestigious CNN Master’s Fellowship where she worked as a web, segment, and field producer for the HLN network at their Atlanta headquarters.
Sasha began her broadcast journalism career as an intern for EMMY award-winning anchor and TV personality Angie Goff.
Her work has appeared on-air and online for dozens of mainstream and niche media outlets covering politics, viral news, entertainment, pop culture, tech trends, and most recently health and wellness in partnership with Providence St. Joseph to create original content to motivate the next generation of creative entrepreneurs to take charge of their mental, social and spiritual health.
Sasha is also a regular panelist and keynote speaker representing her generation internationally at the Dublin Tech Summit in Ireland, presenter at LA’s tech award show the TIMMY’s, Wonder Woman Tech Summit in Washington, DC, SXSW in Austin, Texas and the Technology Student Association state conference in Tennessee.
